Akwaeke Emezi

Akwaeke Emezi is a Nigerian author and artist. Their debut novel Freshwater was a finalist for the PEN/Hemingway Award, and their young adult novel Pet was a finalist for the National Book Award. Their work frequently explores themes of identity, spirituality, and the Igbo concept of ogbanje.
