Alice Walker

Alice Walker is an American novelist, poet, and activist. She is best known for her novel The Color Purple, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and the National Book Award in 1983, making her the first African American woman to win the Pulitzer for Fiction. The novel was adapted into an acclaimed film and Broadway musical.
