Andy Weir is an American science fiction author and former software engineer. His debut novel The Martian began as a self-published serial on his blog before becoming a bestseller and being adapted into a blockbuster film starring Matt Damon. He followed it with Artemis and Project Hail Mary, which further cemented his reputation for scientifically rigorous fiction.
