C.S. Lewis (1898-1963) was a British writer and scholar, best known for The Chronicles of Narnia fantasy series and his Christian apologetics works such as Mere Christianity and The Screwtape Letters. He was a professor at both Oxford and Cambridge and a close friend of J.R.R. Tolkien.
