Daniel Keyes

Daniel Keyes (1927-2014) was an American author best known for his novel Flowers for Algernon, which began as a Hugo Award-winning short story in 1959 and was expanded into a novel in 1966. The story of a man with intellectual disabilities who undergoes an experimental procedure to increase his intelligence has become a staple of American literature and is widely taught in schools.
