Daphne du Maurier

Daphne du Maurier (1907-1989) was an English author and playwright. She is best known for her novels Rebecca, Jamaica Inn, and The Birds, the last of which was adapted into a famous film by Alfred Hitchcock. Rebecca has never been out of print and is considered one of the greatest Gothic novels ever written.
