Georges Perec was a French novelist, filmmaker, and essayist known for his inventive, formally experimental writing. His masterwork Life: A User's Manual and his lipogrammatic novel A Void, written entirely without the letter "e," established him as one of the most ingenious members of the Oulipo literary movement.
