Clytemnestra

Clytemnestra grows up in Sparta, the fierce daughter of King Tyndareus and sister to Helen, learning early that queens are hated or forgotten. She marries into the throne of Mycenae, but when her husband Agamemnon sacrifices their daughter Iphigenia to summon the winds that will carry the Greek fleet to Troy, something in her hardens. Across the long years of the war she rules in his absence and plots the reckoning that history will remember her for. Casati tells the story from Clytemnestra's own perspective, reclaiming a woman long condemned as a murderess and rendering her rage, grief, and cunning with grounded classical detail.
