Good Material
Andy is a 35-year-old London stand-up comedian whose four-year relationship with Jen has just ended, and he cannot understand why. Newly single, broke, and adrift, he moves into a series of grim flats, lodges with a conspiracy-minded older man, obsesses over Jen's social media, and tries to relaunch a comedy career that never quite took off. Alderton tracks his grief in unflinching, very funny detail across a year of bad decisions and slow healing, then hands the final section to Jen, whose own account reframes the whole relationship and reveals what Andy never saw.
