Justin has a curse, and thanks to a viral Reddit thread the whole internet knows about it: every woman he dates finds her soulmate the moment they break up. When Emma, a traveling nurse with the exact same problem, slides into his messages, the two strike a deal. They will date each other, then break up, canceling out both curses so they can each go find true love. Emma takes a nursing assignment in Minnesota, rents a cottage on a private island, and throws herself into the experiment with her best friend in tow. What begins as a tidy plan turns complicated as real feeling creeps in, family responsibilities pile up, and both of them have to confront the wounds that made them afraid to hope for something lasting in the first place.
