Kushiel's Dart

Phèdre nó Delaunay is born with a scarlet mote in her left eye, the mark of Kushiel's Dart, which fates her to experience pain and pleasure as one sensation. Sold into indentured servitude as a child, her bond is bought by the nobleman Anafiel Delaunay, who trains her in the courtly arts, the talents of the bedchamber, and above all the ability to observe, remember, and analyze. Almost as gifted a spy as she is a courtesan, Phèdre stumbles onto a conspiracy that threatens the very foundations of her homeland, Terre d'Ange. Betrayed into captivity in the harsh northern land of Skaldia, accompanied only by a disdainful young warrior-priest, she must escape and race home to warn her people of an impending invasion.
