Mister God, This Is Anna

In the East End of London in the mid-1930s, a teenage boy who goes by Fynn finds a runaway girl of about four huddled on the docks and brings her home to his mother. Anna settles into the household and quickly reveals a mind unlike any around her, asking questions about God, numbers, light, and love that leave grown adults stumped. She insists that Mister God is best understood not through churches or rules but through wonder and direct feeling. Fynn records their conversations and adventures across the streets and rooftops of London, telling the story years later in the shadow of the loss that ends it.
