Spin the Dawn

Maia Tamarin dreams of becoming the greatest tailor in the land, but as a girl in her world the best she can hope for is a good marriage. When a royal summons reaches her ailing father, once a celebrated tailor, Maia disguises herself as a boy and takes his place at court. There she competes against eleven other tailors for the role of imperial tailor, surviving sabotage and rivalry to win the post. Her victory comes with an impossible task: sew three magical dresses, one from the laughter of the sun, one from the tears of the moon, and one from the blood of the stars. The quest sends her across a perilous land, with the court enchanter at her side and a romance she cannot afford slowly taking hold.
