In 2059, the Republic of Scion governs a London where clairvoyance is branded unnatural and punished by death. Paige Mahoney is a dreamwalker, a rare and dangerous kind of voyant, and she works for a criminal syndicate in the city's clairvoyant underground. When Scion captures her, she is transported to Sheol I, a secret prison built in the lost city of Oxford and ruled by the Rephaim, an otherworldly race that has claimed voyants as its army and its livestock. Assigned to a keeper named Warden, Paige has to master her power, decode the layers of the prison's politics, and find a way out before the Rephaim break her.
