In 1998, brothers Will and Adam Cassiobury set out to ski across a glacier in the French Alps, and only one of them returns. Twenty years later, a group of well-off strangers gather at the luxurious La Madiere resort in the same mountains for a winter holiday. As the days pass, it becomes clear that four of the guests are connected to the man who vanished on that glacier decades before, and that someone has arranged this reunion on purpose. When a violent snowstorm and an avalanche seal the resort off from the outside world, a body is discovered, and the buried truth of what happened in 1998 begins to surface. Cooper's debut braids the two timelines toward a reckoning no one can ski away from.
