The Cheerleaders
Five years ago the town of Sunnybrook lost all of its cheerleaders. Two died in a car crash, two were murdered by a neighbor the police then shot, and Monica's older sister Jennifer, the last of the squad, took her own life weeks later. The high school disbanded the cheer team and the town moved on. Now, as Sunnybrook prepares a memorial for the lost girls, Monica finds a burner cell phone and a hidden stack of letters in her stepfather's desk, and the tidy official story starts to fall apart. Some people in town clearly know more than they ever admitted, and the more Monica digs into what really happened to the cheerleaders, the closer the danger creeps to her own family and her own memory of that year.
