The City of Dreaming Books

Optimus Yarnspinner, a young writer from the land of Zamonia, inherits a perfect manuscript and travels to Bookholm, a city obsessed with the buying, selling, and hunting of rare books. Its streets sit above vast catacombs crammed with forgotten and dangerous volumes, guarded by Bookhunters and stranger things. Betrayed and marooned in the labyrinth beneath the city, Yarnspinner must find a way back to the surface through tunnels of living books, poisonous texts, and the gentle Booklings who live in the dark, in a world Moers builds and illustrates entirely himself.
