The Last Templar
During a gala opening of Vatican treasures at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, four horsemen costumed as Knights Templar storm the hall and seize a strange geared device. Archaeologist Tess Chaykin witnesses the raid and knows the costumes for what they are. Teaming with FBI agent Sean Reilly, she follows the trail of the device into the hidden history of the Templars, from the 1291 fall of Acre to the order's last survivors fleeing the pyres of Paris. The chase runs through Manhattan cemeteries and sewers, across the Atlantic to desolate Turkish mountains and remote Greek islands, and into the heart of the Vatican, where a buried truth waits that powerful forces will kill to protect.
