The Library of the Dead
In a near-future Edinburgh fallen on hard times, fourteen-year-old Ropa Moyo has dropped out of school to support her grandmother and younger sister, working as a ghostalker who carries paid messages between the living and the dead. When the ghosts tell her that children across the city are being lured away and drained of their life force, Ropa starts asking questions she is not paid to ask. The trail leads her to a hidden occult institution called the Library of the Dead, where a friend's father works, and into a magical underworld the city keeps secret. Streetwise and broke, Ropa hunts a dark magic that the comfortable would rather ignore.
