The Lido

Rosemary has lived in Brixton her whole life and swum at the Brockwell lido every morning, the pool where she fell in love with her late husband George. Kate is a 26-year-old local-paper reporter crippled by anxiety and loneliness, sent to write about the lido's threatened closure by a property developer. As Kate and Rosemary join forces to save it, their sixty-year age gap dissolves into a genuine friendship, and the campaign draws in shopkeepers, swimmers, and neighbors until the fight for one swimming pool becomes a story about everyone who needs it.
