The Light Over London

Antiques appraiser Cara Hargraves, rebuilding her life after a bruising divorce, discovers a young woman's wartime diary hidden inside an old tin during a house clearance. The entries pull her into the life of Louise Keene, a nineteen-year-old who in 1941 escaped her stifling Cornish village by joining the Auxiliary Territorial Service. Louise becomes one of the "Ack-Ack Girls," crewing an anti-aircraft gun during the Blitz, and falls hard for a dashing RAF pilot named Paul. As Cara reads, she races to learn what became of Louise and the love story the diary leaves unfinished, while sorting out her own future along the way.
