The Little White Horse

In 1842, thirteen-year-old Maria Merryweather is orphaned by her father's death and sent, with her governess Miss Heliotrope and her small dog Wiggins, to live with her cousin Sir Benjamin at Moonacre Manor in the West Country of England. The estate is beautiful but haunted by a sadness Maria cannot name, tied to an old feud and the legend of the Moon Princess and a mysterious little white horse. Curious and determined, Maria explores the manor's secret rooms and the enchanted valley around it, gathering the help of animals and villagers as she works to right the ancient wrong, reunite lost loves, and bring peace back to Moonacre.
