The Lost Girls of Paris

In 1946 New York, young war widow Grace Healey ducks out of the rain into Grand Central Terminal and finds an abandoned suitcase tucked beneath a bench. Inside are a dozen photographs of young women, and Grace cannot stop wondering who they were. The suitcase belonged to Eleanor Trigg, the steely Englishwoman who recruited and ran a secret network of female agents for the Special Operations Executive, women dropped into occupied France as radio operators and couriers. As Grace investigates, the novel follows Eleanor in London and one of her agents, Marie, in the field, building toward the betrayal that explains why twelve of the women never returned.
