The Pisces
Lucy is a thirty-eight-year-old academic who has stalled out on her dissertation on Sappho and just blown up a nine-year relationship. She moves into her sister's Venice Beach house to dog-sit and joins a therapy group for women with love and sex addictions. Between Tinder dates that leave her emptier each time, she meets Theo, a beautiful young swimmer she finds on the rocks at night, who turns out to be a merman. Lucy's obsession with him deepens into a question about whether she wants love or wants to disappear into wanting itself.
