The Rose Garden

After her sister Katrina dies, Eva Ward leaves her life in California and returns to Trelowarth, the Cornwall estate where the two of them spent childhood summers, to scatter the ashes and decide what comes next. Almost at once Eva finds she can slip between her own century and the early seventeen hundreds, where the house belongs to Daniel Butler, a man caught up in coastal smuggling and Jacobite loyalties. As Eva moves back and forth in time, she falls for a man who lived and died long before she was born, and she has to decide whether she belongs to the life she knows or the past that keeps pulling her home.
