The Safekeep
In the Dutch province of Overijssel in 1961, Isabel lives alone in her late mother's house, ordering her days around suspicion and control. When her brother Louis leaves his new girlfriend Eva to stay with Isabel for the summer, the two women's mutual dislike curdles into something else. Isabel becomes convinced Eva is stealing from the house, watches her obsessively, and then falls into a charged and explicit affair with her. As the relationship deepens, the buried history of how Isabel's family came to own the house during the war surfaces, forcing a reckoning with desire, possession, and guilt.
