Sarah Danhauser is uneasy when her twenty-two-year-old stepdaughter Ruby announces a sudden engagement, a romance Sarah suspects was rushed by pandemic isolation. Sarah's mother Veronica is delighted, mostly because she wants the whole family together one last time before she quietly sells the Cape Cod summer house. As the extended family and the groom's relatives converge on the house, the story unfolds through the eyes of Sarah, her husband Eli, Ruby, Sarah's twin brother Sam, Veronica, and the groom's mother Rosa. Each carries a secret the wedding threatens to expose, and the house that has sheltered three generations holds them all together as the weekend builds toward a reckoning.
