Twice Shy

Maybell Parish has always preferred the rich world inside her own head to the disappointments of real life. When her Great-Aunt Violet leaves her a beautiful house in the Smoky Mountains, Maybell sees a chance to finally start over. The catch is that she has to share the inheritance, and the property, with Wesley Koehler, the gruff and gorgeous groundskeeper who has a completely different vision for what the house should become. As they butt heads over renovations and the future, Maybell begins to glimpse something unexpectedly gentle beneath Wesley's scowls. Both of them carry old hurts that have taught them to expect the worst, and learning to trust each other becomes its own quiet, tender adventure.
