Warlock
In the silver-mining town of Warlock, Arizona Territory, citizens hire the legendary gunman Clay Blaisedell to clean up the town the sheriff cannot hold. Blaisedell arrives with his crippled gambler partner Tom Morgan, faces down the McQuown gang riding in from the San Pablo valley, and slowly becomes a problem the town cannot solve either. Hall rotates the narration across the deputy Johnny Gannon, the saloonkeeper, the union organizer at the Medusa Mine, and the outlaw Curley Burne, building a frontier portrait that takes the Tombstone legend and asks what such a man actually does to the town that hired him.
