The Decagon House Murders

Seven members of a university mystery club, who all go by nicknames borrowed from famous crime writers, travel to the uninhabited island of Tsunojima for a week, staying in the eerie ten-sided Decagon House. Six months earlier, the island's architect was killed alongside his household in an unsolved fire, and the students plan to spend the week debating the case. Then they begin to die one by one, each death staged in a way that recalls the old crime. On the mainland, a former club member chases a parallel thread. Ayatsuji's debut launched Japan's shin-honkaku movement, restoring Golden Age logic and fair-play clues to the puzzle mystery, and builds to a reveal that recasts the entire story.
