The Last Murder at the End of the World

Generations after a deadly fog swallowed the world, a community of villagers and a handful of scientists share a single small island, one of the last livable places on Earth. Their survival depends on a fragile arrangement and a watchful intelligence that guides their lives. When one of the scientists is found murdered, an alarm starts counting down: the island's defenses will fail within days unless the killer is identified. Worse, everyone's memory of the night has been wiped, so any of them could have done it without knowing. Turton fuses a fair-play detective story with a speculative, post-collapse premise, building a closed-setting whodunit where the clock and the missing memories raise the stakes on every page.
