The Secrets of Hartwood Hall

In 1852, Margaret Lennox is a young widow with a past she is desperate to leave behind. She takes a position as governess to ten-year-old Louis Eversham at Hartwood Hall, an isolated country house in the west of England. From the start, something feels wrong. Servants speak in half-sentences, a wing of the house is sealed and forbidden, and the village distrusts Louis's widowed mother, Mrs. Eversham, spreading rumors about her that Margaret cannot square with the woman she comes to know.
